Level 1 Diving Coach Practical Workshop

Prepare yourself for an exciting learning journey towards your career as a Diving Coach in our Coaches Level 1 Course! This course is a crucial step for all coaches in Diving Australia. Under the guidance of the esteemed Vyninka Arlow, a Diving Australia Level 3 Coach with extensive experience in all facets of diving coaching, you will gain invaluable insights. Vyninka is currently the National Pathway Coach at the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) and will be joined by another skilled coach, Ben Fox. Ben, a Level 2 Coach with Diving Australia, brings a wealth of coaching knowledge and experience. Together, their combined expertise promises a captivating and enriching course that will establish a solid foundation for your coaching journey!

COURSE DETAILS

• When: Saturday 5th April 2025 from 7.30am-4:30pm, followed by another practical component on Sunday 6th April from 1pm-3pm.

• Diving Queensland's Community Cup event will be held on Sunday 6th April from 9am-12pm, and we strongly encourage coach course participants to volunteer their time to watch and assist as marshalls on the day as part of your learning journey. Get to know the community in our sausage sizzle at 12pm and then stay for the second practical component of the Level 1 course!
• Lunch will be provided on the Saturday. Please list any dietary requirements you may have when registering.
• Where: Brisbane Aquatic Centre, Sleeman Sports Complex, Chandler
• Cost: $150 per participant

This course is one component to becoming a Diving Australia Level 1 Coach.

There are additional learning requirements involved in attaining a DA Level 1 Coach Accreditation and while these will be discussed during the Course they include: 

1. First Aid and CPR Certifications
2. Working with Children Clearance
3. Sport Integrity Australia E-learning certificates
4. 25 hours of supervised practical coaching alongside an accredited DA Level 2 Coach.

You will be given access to a link login after registration to your pre-course online E-Learning which is part of the course curriculum.

Please note, Level 1 Coaches must be 16 years of age before they may be accredited, however Coach candidates do not need to be 16 to participate in this Course.
