Level 1 Diving Coach Practical Workshop

Diving Queensland will be hosting a Level 1 Diving Coach Practical Workshop. This workshop is an integral part of the accreditation process to becoming a Level 1 Diving Coach. 

This Level 1 Course will be faciliated by DA Level 3 Coach Vyninka Arlow. Vyninka has extensive experience at all levels of coaching in diving and is currently the National Pathway Coach with the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS).  Vyninka will be assisted by Chloe Kerr. Chloe is a current DA Level 2 Coach and also works within the QAS Program. In addition to this, she has an unique and diverse background in the field of Skill Acquisition. Their complementary skillsets will provide a fantastic learning opportunity for prospective coaches and will create a strong foundation of knowledge for them to carry forward with them as they begin their coaching journeys

COURSE DETAILS

• When: Saturday 13th May 2023 7.00am-4:30pm. These times are subject to change subject to facilitator discretion. Any changes to start time will be clearly communicated ahead of time. 
• Breakfast refreshments and Lunch will be provided. Please list any dietary requirments you may have when registering.
• Where: Brisbane Aquatic Centre, Sleeman Sports Complex, Chandler
• Cost: $200 per participant
• Registrations Close: Sunday 7^th May 2023 - or sooner if full

This course is one component to becoming a Diving Australia Level 1 Coach. Please note, Level 1 Coaches must be 16 years of age before they may be accredited, however Coach candidates do not need to be 16 to participate in this Course. 

Registration for this Course is open to all members of Diving Queensland:

• Members can access the Registration Portal for this Course by entering their login details. 
• If you are not already a Member of Diving Queensland, you may register as a member here to obtain login details. We recommend that you join as a General Member if you are not otherwise a Parent/Guardian of an existing Member. 

Once you have successfully registered for this Course, you will receive a link and login information to complete the pre-course Diving Australia online modules: Level 1 Online Training Course & Dryland Training Course.

There are additional learning requirements involved in attaining a DA Level 1 Coach Accrediation and while these will be discussed during the Course they include: 

1. First Aid and CPR Certifications
2. Working with Children Clearance
3. Sport Integrity Australia elearning certificates
4. 25 hours of supervised practical coaching alongside an accredited DA Level 2 Coach.
