Level 1 Diving Coach Practical Workshop

Diving Queensland will be hosting a Level 1 Diving Coach Practical Workshop. This workshop is one part of the accreditation process to becoming a Level 1 Diving Coach.

DETAILS

  • When: Saturday 22nd October 2022 7.00am-5pm
  • Where: Brisbane Aquatic Centre, Sleeman Sports Complex, Chandler
  • Cost: $200
  • Registration Closes Saturday 19th October 2022 - or before if full

This course is one component to becoming an NCAS Level 1 Accredited Diving Coach. Level 1 candidates must be 16 years of age by the time of accreditation.

Steps to becoming an accredited Level 1 Coach:

  1. Become a member of Diving Queensland
    • If you are currently a member you may login and register for the course.
    • If you are not yet a member of Diving Queensland, Join as a General Member from the Membership page. Once you are registered as a General Member you can then register for the course.
    • You MUST be a member of Diving Queensland/Diving Australia and will be required to Upgrade to a Coach before final accreditation.
  2. Register and pay for the Level 1 Diving Coach Practical Workshop
  3. Once registered, shortly afterwards you will receive a link and login information to complete the Diving Australia online course modules: Level 1 Online Training Course & Dryland Training Course.
  4. Complete all of the other pre-requisites (in link below). All certificates and pre-requisites must be forwarded to Toni Toohey at admin@divinqld.org.au
  5. Complete the Level 1 Practical Workshop
  6. Complete 25 supervised coaching hours (see below)

LEVEL 1 COACHES ACCREDITATION CERTIFICATE

Once all online components and the full course has been completed, trainee coaches must then complete 25 hours of supervised coaching hours with an accredited Level 2 coach. It is suggested that these hours be done with multiple coaches to provide a wide variety of coaching experiences. Supervising coaches must be accredited. A detailed log of hours and activities completed must be kept and certain activities must be completed during those hours.

On the day of the practical there will be a break for lunch. Lunch will be provided.
